How long have you worked for BDMG?
I have worked for Bird Dog Marketing Group for 11 years.
Tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband Paul and I have been married for 27 years. We have three children: Olivia (25), lives and works in Arlington, VA, Jack (22), recent college grad, works in NYC, and Brendan (18), Freshman at Penn State University - We Are!! We have a 6-year-old Springer Spaniel named Dakota that joined our family a year ago. I have a very large extended family, mostly in the Philadelphia area that we enjoy spending a lot of time with.
What are your favorite hobbies?
I love to bake and cook. I also enjoy painting. I have started back working on some canvases recently during Covid Freetime.
What is your favorite quote?
"Be the change you wish to see in this world." - Mahatma Gandhi My children have gotten so tired of hearing me say this to them over the years. I truly believe we all have the power to make positive changes in our lives and we can all affect change that benefits others.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Last summer we had an opportunity to travel to Italy with our children. I would love to go back again and see Venice and Northern Italy.
If you were to retire and work at Disney World, what would be your dream job?
Ok first, not going to retire to Disney, wayyyy too crowded! If I had to pick one I'd say I would work in Guest Relations at one of the resorts.
Do you have a favorite non-profit or organization that you like to volunteer for or support?
Susan B. Komen Foundation. We lost our mother to breast cancer at the age of 61. My family and I have always supported this foundation and are encouraged by the significant developments researchers have made in Breast Cancer understanding and treatments.
What is the funniest situation you have run into while doing child-resistant adult package testing?
I will always fondly remember a Bird Dog legend, Doris Smith. When I first started with the company I used to love to go out with Doris. The day often ended with lunch or light shopping. I will never forget being a 'newbie' and working with Doris at a church/preschool in Lancaster. The look on her face when a set of rowdy three-year-old twins pulled the drapery off the wall while we were testing is etched in my memory forever. She was a class act and the sweetest lady.
Susan, thank you for sharing your story and reminding us of our lovely Doris! We appreciate your giving us a peek into your life and why you are such a special member of our team!
